Staying ahead means reducing costs.
Chevron rolled out our low-volatility GF-3 base oil product line in 1998, three years ahead of GF-3. Staying so far ahead allowed us to create the most economical solution for GF-3. We expect to do it again for PC-9 and GF-4. Our Group II and Group III products will keep formulators at the leading edge of technology, and at the low range of costs, for conventional and synthetic formulations.
Reducing the complexity of blending in multiple locations.
Chevron Lummus Global is the world's leading developer and licensor of hydroprocessing technology. In fact, Group II base oils manufactured by our licensees are widely available and often can be used interchangeably with Chevron stocks (see your Chevron representative for details).
For customers who blend at multiple locations, the coast-to-coast availability of base oils created with Chevron-licensed technology significantly simplifies their formulating work.
