Rhonda I. Zygocki
Vice President, Policy, Government and Public Affairs
Rhonda I. Zygocki is vice president of Policy, Government and Public Affairs for Chevron Corporation. In this capacity, she oversees U.S. and international government relations, all aspects of communications, and the company's worldwide efforts to protect and enhance its reputation.
A native of St John's, Newfoundland, Canada, Zygocki graduated in 1980 from Memorial University of Newfoundland where she earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering. Upon graduation, she joined Chevron Canada Resources (CCR) in Calgary, as a petroleum engineer, working primarily in Western Canada operations.
After serving in various positions of increasing responsibility, she was named CCR general manager, strategic business services, in 1993. In 1994, Zygocki was appointed profit center manager for Chevron U.S.A. Production Co., in Houston. In 1997, she returned to Canada as chief financial officer for CCR.
Zygocki moved to the company's headquarters in 1999, when she was named manager of strategic planning for Chevron Corporation, responsible for managing the company's planning process. In 2000, she was named adviser to the chairman of the board for Chevron Corporation, and subsequently was responsible for overseeing the merger integration planning office through mid-2001. After the merger of Chevron and Texaco in October 2001, she was named managing director of Chevron Australia Pty Ltd. located in Perth, Australia.
In 2003 she was named vice president of Health, Environment and Safety (HES) for Chevron Corporation. In this capacity, she was responsible for leading HES strategic planning and issues management, compliance and auditing, and emergency response. Zygocki also played a key role in implementing the company's operational excellence and organizational capability initiatives, which are important elements of Chevron's business strategy. In addition, Chevron's Environmental Management Company, which manages environmental remediation and abandonment liabilities, reported to Zygocki.
Zygocki serves on the Board of Directors of the Tiger Woods Learning Center.
Zygocki was born in July 1957.
